Jobs
The Box Office and Operations Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of the MCW Box Office and daily operation needs of the MCW office. The position requires strong organization and communication skills and great attention to detail. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and to foster and facilitate collaboration. He or she will need to work closely with the MCW staff and promote an open, inclusive environment emphasizing cooperation and teamwork. In addition, he or she must be comfortable in a fast-paced organization, bright, of highest integrity, possess sound judgment, have a good sense of humor and be dedicated to the cultural arts.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Manage all aspects of the box office and audience services including processing of subscriptions by mail, phone, and online and group sales
• Oversee annual subscription drive and coordinate subscriber benefits
• Manage box office relationship with venue partners
• General office management
• Financial administration as primary contact for comptroller and in-office financial support including record maintenance
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, at least three years work experience (preferably in the arts), IT knowledge/skills including fluency in Microsoft Office suite and database experience, customer service experience mandatory, experience in ticketing helpful. Will include some nights and weekends.

Internships
MCW provides the opportunity for students or young professionals to experience the inner workings of a successful and established nonprofit arts organization in Washington DC. MCW offers internships for motivated individuals in the following areas of nonprofit arts management:

• Audience Services

Marketing
The Marketing intern will work with the Program and Marketing Manager to fulfill all of the marketing and audience services activities of Master Chorale including individual concert and season promotion, MCW website maintenance, Playbill process management, organizational Public Relations, and audience services.
Tasks would include assisting in writing, editing and coordinating communications with patrons such as season promotional materials, mailings to patrons and subscribers and e-newsletters; assist in monitoring the MCW website for accurate and up-to-date information; assist in taking phone orders for tickets and processing; work with Program and Marketing Manager to research and implement social marketing initiatives; assist with Front of House operations at concerts; and assist in the day to day operation of the Marketing and Audience Services Department.
Development & Special Events
The Development & Special Events intern will work with the Development Associate and Executive Director to fulfill all of the development activities of MCW including all contributed income, planned giving, prospect research, donor cultivation, institutional giving including government and foundation grants, membership programs, and special events including the annual gala.
Tasks would include assisting in the cultivation, acknowledgement and stewardship; conducting donor research; organizing donor files; fulfillment of donor requests; assist in the planning and coordination of special events including receptions and special concerts; grant research and preparation; preparing for meetings communications with the Board of Directors; and assisting in the day-to-day operations of the development department.
All applicants should fit the following qualifications:
• Fluency in Microsoft Office
• 2+ years of college or college graduate
• strong written and communication skills
• writing and editing experience
• basic knowledge of music helpful but not required
• familiarity with arts organizations helpful but not required
• must be able to negotiate stairs
• interest in arts management
• good team player
• comfortable with new technology; database experience a definite plus
• Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
Interns are accepted for the summer, fall and spring semesters for a minimum 8-12 weeks. Fall and Spring semester interns are required for a minimum of 10 hrs/wk; Summer interns are required for a minimum of 20 hrs/wk. Interns receive a travel stipend of $125/month; MCW is also happy to work with the intern to accommodate college credit requirements.
