On May 17, 2009, the Master Chorale of Washington performed its final concert at the Kennedy Center, and closed its doors, ending 43 years of service to the community. The harsh economic realities of the past year simply left the Chorale unable to fund a new season, so the decision was made to close with dignity rather than stumble midway through a new, unfunded season. Our heartfelt thanks goes to all who have made this chorale a special part of the Washington arts community, including donors and sponsors, volunteers, and vendors.
